Our Anniversary

Today Brian and I celebrate THREE years of marriage. Each year has been an adventure- full of love, learning, sacrifice, and joy. Our three years as a married couple have been filled with world travel, starting up a business, climbing many mountain peaks, enjoying the quiet comfort of each other’s presence, laughter,  lots of dreaming, and continual encouragement. I look forward to many years with the man that made me the happiest girl alive.

This morning I read through the vows we wrote and read to each other on August 16th, 2008.

My vows to Brian:

I promise to encourage your sense of adventure
Because that is what motivates and moves you
I promise to nurture your dreams
Because through them I can truly understand you.
I promise to help shoulder our challenges
Because with you by my side, I know we can weather any storm.
I promise to be your partner in all things,
Because together we are stronger than apart.
I promise to share with you all the joys of life,
Because with you they will be that much sweeter.
Lastly, I promise to love and honor you
For one lifetime with you could never be enough.
This is my sacred vow to you, my equal in all things.

Brian’s vows to me:

I promise to encourage your creativity
Because that is what inspires you.
I promise to nurture our relationship
Because each day I want to grow a little more with you.
I promise to help shoulder our challenges
Because together we can make it through anything.
I promise to be your partner in all things
Because my life is complete when I share it with you.
I promise to share with you the good time and the bad
Because even the bad times will be sweet because I am with you.
Lastly I promise to love and honor you
For one lifetime with you could never be enough.
This is my sacred vow to you, my equal in all things.

Brian has made me slow down in life, to really savor it.  And he has encouraged me to enjoy the quiet moments in life, as well as the big.  I am so grateful to have him in my life.

A few frames from an amazing engagement shoot styled by A Vintage Affair Rentals….. what makes it even more special is that this couple is Jessica and Greg– and Jessica is the owner/founder of A Vintage Affair Rentals!  Just wait until you see all the fun details they planned…..

And, are you admiring that bouquet as much as I???  Flowers from the talented Cori Cook!  Love her and love her work! 🙂  And makeup by Natosha Cooke!  I highly recommend hiring  JessicaCori, and Natosha for your engagement and wedding– they all continue to amaze me with their style and creativity!

Hindsight Bride Podcast!

I was so flattered when Christie O. from Hindsight Bride asked me if I would be interested in doing a podcast for her!!!  OF COURSE I said yes!  It was so much fun and I enjoyed talking with Christie over the phone, chatting about wedding, and answering all the fun questions she threw my way! ( although it was a little nerve wracking hearing my own voice when Christie posted the final podcast! 🙂 )

Check out the podcast here and more of Christie’s words of wisdom at her blog

On the other side of the camera…. :)

There is something special about having your photo taken.   Truly- I am in love with capturing moments…. freezing them inside my camera to fondly look back on.

I spend so much time taking pictures of other people that I wanted to change it up a bit and have some pictures taken of Brian and I…. for no reason whatsoever!  Other than just for the fun of it!

James Christianson is an insanely talented photographer.  He was also my mentor when I first started my photography business and I learned so much from him.  Besides being an extraordinary photographer, he is also a skilled teacher and quite patient (I asked him 1000s of questions a day when we were working together- yes, I was that annoying!)

I hired him to do some pictures last month and I have only seen a couple quick peeks.  He posted this series of images today and I am eagerly awaiting the rest!  Now I know what my clients feel like when they are waiting for their images! 😉

More to come…..
