“Happiness is a journey, not a destination.”
This is one of Danielle and Greg’s favorite quotes. And I couldn’t agree more. Sometimes we spend our lives waiting for happiness– waiting for when the bills have been paid, and when the work has been done. Waiting for some event that’s supposed to happen in the future. But happiness is now– there is no waiting.
And I can tell these two live their lives according to this mantra. When faced with a long-distance relationship, they didn’t think about the difficulties ahead. They decided to date while living hundreds of miles apart and soaked in the happiness they had for each other. They thought about the present– about enjoying each other’s company over the phone, when they were not able to see each other in person every day. About the anticipation of the next fun trip together.
And finally, they made their paths cross intentionally…. Greg relocated to Colorado to be with Danielle. And, he took her by the hand and asked her to marry them.
They brought all sorts of sentimental items to this engagement shoot. From the teacups Greg made for Danielle while they were dating, to Danielle’s grandmother’s colorful quilt, and even the bottle of wine they saved from the night Greg asked for Danielle’s hand in marriage.
They are planning a November wedding– and I couldn’t be happier for them to tie the knot!
