CLASSROOM TOPICS

PHOTOSHOOT #1

Rise before the sun to experience the running of the horses at dawn. Inspired by feminine daydreams, our editorial will lead us to the fields, surrounded by majestic equine beauty, and the innocence of carefree days frolicking and basking in the sun.

PHOTOSHOOT #2

Join us as we travel to the Great Sand Dunes National Park to capture a fiercely striking bridal editorial, exuding feminine beauty, juxtaposed with rustic touches. Channeling our favorite pages ripped from a Vogue magazine, we will explore editorial poses that make a lasting impression.

PHOTOSHOOT #3

Prepare for a surreal and unforgettable experience, as we join the wild bison herd as the sun sets over the horizon. Channeling an old west love story, we will capture a smoldering romance with the most breathtaking backdrop of Colorado ranch lands.

We will have three different portfolio-building photoshoots in three amazing locations. Each photoshoot will have two sets of models to allow for us to split into smaller groups.

WHO ARE WE?

JANNA BROWN

I am a fine art film wedding photographer based in Denver, Colorado. After graduating with a degree in mathematics and spending several years working in the technology sector, I found my ultimate inspiration in photography. I never dreamed my career would transition from data cruncher to wedding photographer.

I am passionate about the pursuit of being the best versions of ourselves and I enjoy teaching the business aspect of photography. My new brand Spark & Bound provides tools to creatives to achieve their wild dreams and extraordinary goals.

As a floral designer and stylist, I have found myself dotting the map, working alongside elephants in the open bush of South Africa, beneath the Eiffel Tower, amongst the lavender fields in Provence, atop grassy peaks in New Zealand, on the enchanting streets of Florence and finding my way through the haze of the sunrise on the Pacific Coast.

It is my quest and mission to always be a student of all things exquisite: a seeker of beauty, curator of fine details, purveyor of aesthetics and arranger of wild, untamed florals. My collective experiences and internal creative compass have my soul yearning for perpetual adventure, beauty and new creations. Having the opportunity to do what I love for a living, at times, leaves me speechless; bringing beautiful moments to fruition is a treasured reward.

SHIRA SAVADA

VIRGINIA EDELSON

TAYLOR CHAMBERLAIN

Virginia Edelson is the founder and principal of Bluebird Productions. She moved to Aspen, Colorado, after graduating from the University of Virginia in 2006 with a degree in Art History and Psychology. Originally drawn to Aspen for its winter ski season, Virginia quickly fell in love with the summer and autumnal months, as well as the amazing activities, food, and culture Aspen has to offer. She calls her hometown “the perfect mix of a small town with big city amenities.” After two years of playing in the snow as a ski instructor, she worked at The Little Nell as a Catering Sales and Events Manager where she developed a sharp attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and a high standard for providing the utmost quality of service for each of her clients — all of which would lead her to establish her own wedding and special events production company. Virginia’s background in fine art and her time spent exploring the world shape her approach to designing weddings and events, in which she also weaves in important details of each couple’s story and the setting of the celebration.

Virginia lives in Old Snowmass, just 20 minutes from downtown Aspen with two children: four-year-old Zach and two-year-old Elizabeth, and avalanche rescue dog, Zara.

Shira Savada has seen (and heard and written about) her fair share of weddings, and it never gets old… because she loves weddings and the people who make them happen. As the former Real Weddings Editor of Martha Stewart Weddings, she now shares the knowledge and expertise from her decade-plus there through her new consulting company, shiramisu. Shira works with industry talent, helping them make their best first (and lasting) impression by curating their content and finessing their websites and the materials they present to their clients.

Shira is a seasoned bridesmaid, and a sucker for a great first dance song, anything calligraphed, classic photographs, family heirlooms, and a well-made cocktail. Her love of all things bridal began in elementary school when she dressed up as a bride for Halloween in a “gown” made by her mother.
